RESUMEN
Se realizó una intervención educativa con 30 adolescentes de
15 a 19
años, pertenecientes al Instituto de Magisterio de Fray
Bartolomé de las Casas, Alta Verapaz (Guatemala), en el período comprendido de
mayo a noviembre del 2005, a
fin de modificar sus conocimientos sobre VIH/SIDA. La actividad comenzó con la aplicación de una
encuesta que incluía datos generales de los participantes y determinados
aspectos sobre la infección, cuyas respuestas fueron evaluadas en ese momento y
3 meses después de haber interactuado con ellos en varias sesiones de trabajo,
donde se utilizaron técnicas participativas para intercambiar informaciones y
amenizar la acción didáctica. La intervención educativa, cuyos resultados
fueron validados con la técnica de Mc Nemar, logró modificar favorablemente los conocimientos de
los adolescentes sobre tan importante tema de educación para la salud.

Knowledge Modification on HIV / aids in Guatemalan adolescents from the "Fray Bartolomé" Teaching Institute
ABSTRACT
A
teaching intervention with 30 adolescents from 15 to 19 years,
belonging to "Fray Bartolomé de las Casas" Teaching
Institute, Alta Verapaz (Guatemala) was carried out, from May to November,
2005, in
order to modify their knowledge
on HIV/AIDS. The activity began with the application
of a survey that included the
participants' general data and
certain aspects on the infection
whose answers were evaluated in that moment and
3 months after having interacted with them in several
work sessions, where participative techniques were used to
exchange informations and to make
interesting the didactic action. The teaching intervention which results were validated
with the Mc Nemar technique,
was able to modify the
knowledge of the adolescents favorably on this
so important education topic for health.
