Breast cancer is the most frequent tumor in women, since nowadays it constitutes the second
death cause in the female population. Around 5 to 10% of all the mammary
neoplasm are considered hereditary: 25% of these is
attributed to alterations in the BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 genes and other 1% to
syndromes of genetic origin. Since the
health actions in the field of the community genetics are directed to identify
families with hereditary breast cancer, we propose a method to assist
genetically these families, following all the stages and principles established
in such orientations, without obviating the psychological and ethical problems
of diagnosis and selection of persons that are at risk that could arise during
the practice of this exercise.
