Resumen 

Se mencionan las principales características  de diferentes enfermedades bucodentales en personas viviendo con el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana y el sida, conducta a seguir, tratamiento, así como medidas para evitar que el personal de estomatología se contamine con el virus.  Los autores defienden en el trabajo la clasificación que consideran más sencilla y práctica  para reconocer y diagnosticar las afecciones bucales relacionadas con tal infección.

The work of odontology in people living with the human immunodeficiency virus and AIDS

 ABSTRACT   

We mentioned the main characteristics of different oral and dental diseases in people living with the human immunodeficiency virus and AIDS, the behaviour to be followed, treatment, as well as the measures to avoid that the odontology staff is contaminated with the virus. The authors defend in the work the classification they consider simpler and practical to recognize and diagnose the oral affections related to such infection.
