La Morfofisiología es una disciplina académica que estudia la estructura anatómica en sus aspectos macroscópicos, microscópicos y moleculares, así como las funciones de estas estructuras, su origen y desarrollo en el período prenatal, la composición química de la materia viva, así como las relaciones multicausales del proceso salud-enfermedad y de las acciones médicas. También mantiene una estrecha relación con las ciencias morfológicas, fisiológicas, sociomédicas y muy especialmente con la Filosofía Marxista-Leninista, lo cual le confiere un enfoque integrador en el estudio estructural y funcional del organismo humano.

It is also closely linked to the sociomedical, morphological and physiological sciences, and very especially to the Marxist-Leninist Philosophy, what confers it an integral approach in the structural and functional study of the human organism.
