Policlínico Docente “José Martí”

Se efectuó un estudio transversal y descriptivo de 307 ancianos pertenecientes al Grupo Básico de Trabajo “C” del Policlínico Docente “José Martí” de Santiago de Cuba, en el período comprendido de enero a julio del 2007, a fin de indagar si tenían proyectos de vida o no, para lo cual fueron entrevistados individualmente en sus hogares. La información obtenida reveló que la mayoría de los adultos mayores no tenían elaborado dicho proyecto, y en los que sí existía, estaba orientado hacia la realización de actividades laborales, recreativas, culturales o educacionales, en dependencia de la personalidad y el medio social donde se insertaban, así como también de la influencia de factores socioculturales y familiares.

A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out in 307 aged people belonging to the "C" Working Basic Group at "José Martí " Teaching Polyclinic of Santiago de Cuba from January to July, 2007, in order to investigate whether they had projects of life or not, reason for which they were interviewed individually at home. The obtained information revealed that most of the elderly had not made such a project, and in those who made it, it was aimed at doing recreational, cultural, educational or working activities, taking into account their personality and social environment, as well as the influence of sociocultural and family factors.
