Se efectuó una intervención educativa en una muestra de 44 educandos seleccionados aleatoriamente de 149 estudiantes de séptimo grado de la Escuela Secundaria Básica Urbana “Emma Rosa Chuy Arnau”, perteneciente al Policlínico Palma Sur “Carlos René Montalván Carnero” del municipio Palma Soriano, durante el período abril – junio del 2007, a fin de modificar sus conocimientos sobre algunos de los aspectos primordiales de la hepatitis viral A. Se aplicó un cuestionario antes y después de la etapa de intervención y se concluyó que la acción educativa modificó satisfactoriamente los conocimientos de los escolares, al proporcionarles una amplia y adecuada información sobre la enfermedad, por lo cual se recomendó extender esta valiosa experiencia a otras áreas donde dicha afección constituya un problema de salud.

An educational intervention was carried out in a sample of 44 randomly selected students from 149 seventh graders of "Emma Rosa Chuy Arnau" Junior High School belonging to "Carlos René Montalván Carnero" Palma Sur Polyclinic from Palma Soriano municipality, during the period from April to June, 2007, in order to modify their knowledge of some of the main aspects on the viral hepatitis A. A questionnaire was applied before and after the intervention stage and it was concluded that the educational action modified satisfactorily the knowledge of the students, as a wide and appropriate information on the illness was provided to them, that is why it was recommended to extend this valuable experience to other areas where this disease constitutes a health problem.
